Illness Policy – When to Keep Your Child Home

Please keep your child at home if they experience any of the following:

  • Fever of 101°F or higher

  • Vomiting or diarrhea (especially if ongoing or occurring together)

  • Unidentified rash
    (A doctor’s note may be required before returning)

  • Pink eye (conjunctivitis) with redness or discharge
    (Children may return after 24 hours of prescribed treatment)

  • Thick yellow or green nasal discharge, which may indicate infection

  • Head lice
    (Children may return once all nits have been completely removed)

  • Persistent sore throat

Returning to Care

  • Children may return to care once symptoms have improved and they are able to comfortably participate in daily activities.
